2009 NLN STTI Grant

2009 NLN/STTI Grant Awarded to Lori Goodstone, RN, MSN

We are proud to announce the 2009 recipient of the Sigma Theta Tau/National League for Nursing Grant. After a thorough review process, Lori Goodstone of Farmingdale State College, NY, was chosen to receive this prestigious grant. Her study, "The Effects of Increased Exposure to Human Patient Simulation on the Development of Critical Thinking Skills in Associate Degree Nursing Students," will investigate the effectiveness of high fidelity patient simulation using the Human Patient Simulator (HPS) in improving critical thinking ability in nursing students.

This annual grant, made possible through a gift from Diane Billings, EdD, RN, FAAN, to Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation, supports research that advances the science of nursing education through the use of technology to disseminate knowledge. The NLN Foundation for Nursing Education works in partnership with the Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation on the grant process.
