Nurse Safety Scholar-in-Residence Program
Joint Commission Resources is seeking applications for its Nurse Safety Scholar-in-Residence program, established to translate safe patient care from evidence to the bedside. Applications must be submitted by July 16, 2010 and the 18-month term begins October 1, 2010.

National Health Service Corps 2010 Scholarship Program
The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) is a network of more than 10,000 primary health care professionals and sites that serve the most medically underserved regions of the country. To support this service, the NHSC provides primary care clinicians - including nurse practitioners and certified nurse midwives - with financial support in terms of scholarships and loan repayment. The scholarship consists of payment for tuition, required fees, other educational costs, and a monthly support stipend.

Faculty Development: Integrated Technology into Nursing Education and Practice Initiative
On January 20, 2010, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announced the Faculty Development: Integrated Technology into Nursing Education and Practice Initiative under the Nurse Education, Practice, and Retention Grants.
This program provides support to nursing collaboratives for faculty development in the use of information and other technologies in order to expand the capacity of schools of nursing to educate students for 21st century practice. Nursing collaboratives will use healthcare information systems to enhance nursing education and practice, optimize patient safety, and drive improvements in healthcare quality. The collaboratives will also plan and implement continuing education programs for faculty in all levels of nursing education in the appropriate and creative use of informatics, telehealth, and simulation in their teaching. The deadline for schools to submit an application is February 25, 2010.
