The Ruth D. Corcoran Fund for Nursing Education Research

When NLN CEO and long-time leader in nursing education Dr. Ruth Corcoran retired in January 2007 after nine years of stellar service to the League, there was no better way to honor her than with the Ruth Corcoran Fund for Nursing Education Research. Created with the gratitude of the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education Board of Trustees, NLN staff, contributing NLN members, and friends, this fund is a tribute to her professional and personal legacy.

Dr. Corcoran's tenure at the NLN was marked by excellence. Her invaluable contributions have endured and ensured a bright future at the National League for Nursing. As CEO, Ruth Corcoran displayed extraordinary leadership by focusing on the needs of the nursing education community, developing lasting relationships with peers and health care organization leaders, and becoming a role model for other association leaders and members of the nursing community. By teaching, mentoring, and affirming staff, members, and volunteers, she achieved a transparent environment dedicated to learning and improving nursing education practice and research.
